Inception

Salvage Films was created in 2017 through filming Ray Lewis OAM leading a group of Beaumaris locals on one of his iconic 'Foreshore Walk and Talks'.

Since then, Salvage Films has branched out into corporate; palaeontology and fossil fossicking; 3D immersive and submersive videos

Pete Lamshed is the 'one man band' behind Salvage Films

Pete's current quest is to create films of our aquatic environment, showcasing the rich diversity and our ocean's immense importance to human survival. He wants to show folks how spectacular our undersea world is, and what they can expect to find in their own aquatic backyards.

Ocean Conservation

Fact: Human survival, our biospheres and weather events are all bound intrinsically to our oceans, their temperature and currents

Fact: Approximately 3 billion people world-wide rely on wild-caught and farmed seafood as a primary source of protein

Fact: Anywhere between 50 to 80% of our World’s oxygen originates from our oceans, mostly from seagrass beds, mangroves and algal blooms

Fact: 94% of the Earth’s living species exist solely in our marine environment

Add to all 'the facts', our ocean environs are stunningly beautiful; home to creatures that defy human imagination and behave in ways that amuse, confuse and astound

Conserving and protecting our oceans must become our fundamental priority, if humans are to survive the upcoming and devastating impacts by Climate Change

Salvage Films hopes to encourage Ocean Conservation by introducing people to the fascinations of our underwater world and outlining the dire need to protect it

Our oceans absorb more CO2 than any other natural carbon sink on our planet and are vital to our  actions to combat the worsening crisis of Climate Change
